ABC appear to have cancelled Wipeout after seven seasons.
Despite plans for Wipeout Season 8, which even saw the production company begin casting, the network is not moving forward with the ratings-challenged obstacle-course series, and has even taken down its the official show page on the ABC website.
Like so many series of this nature, the show could resurrect in the future, but at this time ABC seem to have pulled the plug on Wipeout.
Stay tuned for any potential updates on the status of Wipeout…
RIP.
Thanks: Sara

What a load of crap!!! Wipeout blows all the other crap shows out of the water. Why is The Bachelorette, Hells Kitchen, House Wife’s of Wherever, and all the other pointless shows still able to stay on? But Wipeout is not? I was able to sit and watch the show with my 5yr old without fear of bad language or nudity. Shame of ABC to cancel a good show based on numbers instead of quality. I won’t be watching ABC anymore unless Wipeout comes back.

Wipeout is cancelled by ABC because the format of the show is alike to AMERICAN NINJA WARRIORS which is owned by Japanese based media company that filed an INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINT that I think settled out of court, if I am not wrong. It stated on Wikipedia. Wipeout is a production of Endemol for ABC.
