TORONTO – This summer, clones, bounty hunters, time-travellers, grindhouse car races, demon protectors, and of course, a tornado of sharks, capture a gripping line-up of brand new series and returning fan-favourites beginning June 9, only on Space.
“As Space approaches its 20th anniversary in October, we’re celebrating by delivering the hottest genre programs to a passionate and loyal fan base,” said Pat DiVittorio, Vice-President, Programming, CTV and Specialty. “From Space’s thought-provoking thriller ORPHAN BLACK to BLOOD DRIVE and SHARKNADO, Space’s summer schedule promises to be out of this world.”
New seasons of Canadian smash-hit thrillers DARK MATTER and WYNNONA EARP debut Friday, June 9 at 8 and 10 p.m. ET respectively, followed the next night by ORPHAN BLACK, which makes its much anticipated final season premiere on Saturday, June 10 at 10 p.m. ET. Also on June 10, Space serves up a hardy DOCTOR WHO marathon, with an encore broadcast of the first eight episodes of Season 10, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. On June 30, Space’s most-watched original series KILLJOYS joins DARK MATTER and WYNNONA EARP for a killer Friday night line-up with the Season 3 premiere at 8 p.m. ET.
The incredibly popular competition series FACE OFF returns with fresh faces, Tuesday, June 13 at 9 p.m. ET, followed by all-new series COSPLAY MELEE at 10 p.m. ET, where cosplayers compete to create the most unique characters, costumes, and backstory.
Also premiering exclusively on Space this summer is the 13-episode, one-hour long grindhouse cinema-inspired series, BLOOD DRIVE, (Wednesday, June 14 at 10 p.m. ET). The series follows Arthur Baily (Alan Ritchson, BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE), a cop pulled into a twisted world of a cross-country death race with no way out. He struggles with staying on the right side of the law while falling in love with Grace (Christina Ochoa, ANIMAL KINGDOM).
Summer on Space would not be complete without a Sharknado. SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING takes viewers by storm, Sunday, August 6 at 8 p.m. ET. In SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, with North America still reeling from the last disaster, the rest of the world braces for a global Sharknado. Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his family must put a stop to the phenomenon, before Earth is obliterated. Cameos include Fabio, Olivia Newton-John, Margaret Cho, Tony Hawk, Gilbert Gottfried, Chris Kattan, and Clay Aiken.

Following Season 2’s explosive finale, the scattered survivors of EOS-7 battle to regroup amidst the backdrop of corporate war. Ryo Ishida, now emperor of Zairon, makes an enemy of his former allies while the past comes back to haunt the crew of the Raza.
WYNONNA EARP Season 2
Fridays at 10 p.m. ET, beginning June 9
Wynonna and the gang must face a whole new level of evil when more paranormal beings enter the Ghost Triangle. In the premiere episode “Steel Bars and Stone Walls” the consequences of Waverly’s (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) actions affect the whole team.
ORPHAN BLACK Season 5
Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET beginning June 10
In the season opener, “The Few Who Dare”, a wounded Sarah, desperate to rescue Cosima, get off the island and reunite with her family, journeys into the island’s interior, only to discover a mysterious village – the beating heart of the Neolution agenda. Meanwhile, a recovering Cosima reunites with Delphine and begins investigating the secrets of the Island under the watchful eye of Rachel who is now firmly in charge at the right-hand of the 170-year-old founder of Neolution, P.T. Westmorland. Back home, Neolution’s hunt for Helena, puts the screws to Alison and Donnie.
FACE OFF Season 12
Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning June 13
This season, the competition series explores the world of special effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination which allows them to create amazing works of living art. Each episode concludes with a contestant being sent home by a panel of expert and celebrity judges.
COSPLAY MELEE Series Premiere
Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET, beginning June 13)
This inventive competition series, the world’s most creative cosplayers face off against each other in an intense battle to determine who can craft the most original costumes and characters. Each episode features four new cosplayers who are tasked with creating their own unique characters with elaborate costumes and backstories. The contestants must then perform their characters in front of a panel of judges featuring elite cosplayer LeeAnna Vamp and film costume creator, Christian Beckman (Tron: Legacy). At the end of each episode, the winning cosplayer takes home $10,000. In the premiere episode “A Night at the Space Opera”, the cosplayers must create an original character inspired by their favorite space operas.
BLOOD DRIVE Series Premiere
Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET, beginning June 14
BLOOD DRIVE follows Arthur Baily (Alan Ritchson) a cop pulled into a twisted world of a cross-country death race with no way out. He struggles with staying on the right side of the law while falling in love with Grace (Christina Ochoa). Ultimately, their mission is to bring vengeance on the shadowy corporation behind the death race. But the closer they get to the finish line, the closer they are to the blood-stained fury that awaits them.
KILLJOYS Season 3
Friday at 8 p.m. ET, beginning June 30
Sustaining serious personal losses, our trio of interplanetary bounty hunters must come together and prepare themselves for what lies ahead. Tension and tragedy loom over the J Star System, as they struggle to assemble an army and prepare for battle. In the season opener “Boondoggie”, Dutch and D’avin with the help of an obnoxious black market dealer, are on the hunt for a weapon that will draw out the Hullen, and Johnny receives and SOS from Clara leading him into the underground world of Hackmonds.

In SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, the mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid) when their young son gets trapped in a traveling ‘nado and transported all over the world.
