BBC One has renewed sitcom Peter Kay’s Car Share for Series 2.
The actor spilled the renewal beans to BBC Wales, confirming that the second series has already been written, with filming slated to begin late spring/early summer 2016:
“We’ve written it. We wrote it a while back now and we’re just waiting for light nights. Because, you see, we drive around a lot and we need to shoot it in May/June.
Really, the whole show is set outdoors, but in a car, so we need as much daylight as we can get, so the plan is to film it next May/June.”
Kay admits he’s been pleasantly surprised by the response to Car Share:
I was delighted with the response it’s got – I wasn’t sure [viewers] would like it because it was just two people in a car talking, and I thought ‘will people in this day and age watch that?'”
Barry Etheridge says
Work of genius. So pleased to see this get another run!
