The Mentalist will end after Season 7, it has now been confirmed.
Actor Tim Kang announced the news via Twitter:
This is our 7th and final season. Looking at the scripts now, it's so fun and such a great season!

In a new behind the scenes clip from the Season 6 DVD, creator Bruno Heller says of the decision to end CBS police procedural:
“Rather than play games anymore, it felt like the audience was ready for a definitive statement.”
Adds series star Simon Baker:
“We’d gone with this story line for so long. I really felt like we’d played it out.”

After “Red John” was killed, and everyone sort of went their separate ways, that was more or less the end, which was a shame. Loved the series a lot, sigh.

We’ll miss the show very much. However, the last show of last season proved one thing – Simon Baker is one hell of an actor. Who knew?

I love the mentalist it’s one of my favorite shows in the whole wide world as well and the mentalist rocks as well,after season 7 the mentalist season 8 will not be seen next year,so that we may bring you so more kid and family values programming that’s suitable for kids,teens and adults and seeking peace,shelter,salvation with our lord and savior jesus christ on television
