Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist cancelled on Netflix due to Disney’s impending streaming service?
Not according to Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, who informed Deadline that Netflix still owns the Marvel TV shows (despite Disney having the intellectual property rights) and will ultimately decide their fate:
“As long as they keep making those shows, they continue on Netflix. Our Marvel series that Disney produces for us — we own those shows. They run until we cancel them.”
Netflix Chief Executive Reed Hastings added:
“We get to use them for a very long time.”
Are you expecting a lot more life from Marvel TV shows on Netflix?
As things stand, Daredevil is renewed for Season 3, with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist all safe through Season 2.
