Friday Night Lights is being revived, albeit with a twist (and a song and dance).
The NBC football series is returning not for Season 6, but for a musical in 2016.
As Variety reports:
The team that brought L.A. audiences “Cruel Intentions: The Musical” and “The Unauthorized O.C. Musical” is at it again, lining up “The Unauthorized ‘Friday Night Lights’ Musical” for a 2016 bow with one of the show’s original stars, Scott Porter, signed on to star.
