Deadwood Season 4 might be out of the question, but Kim Dickens is ‘hopeful’ for a movie sign-off to give the cancelled HBO series closure.
The actress tells Digital Spy that the western drama was unfairly treated when HBO “pulled the plug abruptly” on Season 4:
“I remember we finished season three and we were sort of all told that we were coming back for season four and then during the hiatus the plans changed, so we didn’t even really get to tie up the stories at the end of three because we thought we were all coming back. It was a real disturbance – it had a real passionate fan base.”
However, with preliminary discussions on a Deadwood movie, Dickens believes it would represent a “great” opportunity to finish a story that, in her view, always did need that fourth season:
“I think it would be great. A lot of the cast and I have remained friends and I think all of us would love to finish it. It always felt like such a disturbance to have ended it so abruptly. It really just needed one more season to finish.”
Stay tuned as we monitor cancellation graveyard for signs of Deadwood…
