Interrogation, CBS’s true-crime drama, receives a straight-to-series order on its live streaming service. Based on a true story that has gone on for more than 30 years, each episode will capture a single interrogation which was taken from real police case files. The first nine episodes will be released all at once allowing viewers to watch them in a non-linear fashion, trying to put the viewer in the shoes of the lead detective. The final episode will wrap the case up and be released at a later date.
“Interrogation pushes the boundaries of what a television series can be with its truly unique format,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access. “It’s also a series that could only be executed with the technical capabilities of a streaming service, and we look forward to bringing its innovative approach to our CBS All Access subscribers.”
CBS has not released the details of the actual case in hopes of keeping viewers in the dark but the script currently contains the real names of those involved in the case. They are still debating whether or not to change the names as the case originally never made national news. This looks to be an exciting new approach to TV and we here at RenewCancelTV can’t wait to see it unfold…
