ITV has cancelled Bear Grylls: Mission Survive after two series (seasons).
A spokesperson for the broadcaster confirmed that the reality show hasn’t survived for a third series:
“We had two exciting series of Mission Survive but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel’s Entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.
‘We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series. We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course.’
RIP.

Bear seems like a really nice guy. But.. well… I do grow weary of the one-trick pony. It’s fabulous he’s great at survival.. but each and every one of his shows is the SAME show. You’d think… they’ve tried it 10 times… isn’t it about time that networks realize there’s just no sustainable show there? At least not in the same, tried and failed, forms. I have no doubt the shows are what the networks WANT to do and probably not Bear’s idea… it may be time to ask Bear what HE thinks is worth shooting and airing. To be frank… a more educational show would be a bigger pull for me. I had these “get random teams and compete” (or pseudo compete) shows. No one cares about these rando’s they’ve pulled off the streets for the shows. If anyone is tuning in it’s for Bear and his knowledge. However, for some reason he’s never really the forefront of these shows.

It keeps showing different personalities that are going to be on this summer. Is this really cancelled or are they just jumping the gun on renewals?
