The BBC has cancelled White Gold following allegations of sexual abuse against star Ed Westwick.
Per Variety, filming has stopped on the previously-renewed second season while an investigation is launched:
“These are serious allegations which Ed Westwick has strenuously denied. The BBC is not making any judgement but until these matters are resolved we will not include Ordeal by Innocence in the schedules. The independent production company making White Gold has informed us that Ed Westwick has paused from filming while he deals with these allegations.”
Per sources, filming is not expected to resume on the series’ second season.
The BBC has not yet responded to RenewCancelTV for comment.
RIP.

Not true, title is false (for now at least). He just isn’t part of the show anymore, it’s still filming

That’s funny. White Gold came back for season 2. He was part of it. It was great. Now I am hoping for a season 3
