Valor was cancelled almost as soon as it arrived. CW boss Mark Pedowitz has offered his take on why the military drama fell well short of earning a Season 2, per Deadine:
“It did not resonate the way we’d hoped it would resonate. I wanted to do one for 6-7 years; it maybe is a question whether the CW audience would come to a military drama for us. It did not help that there were 85 of them his year, I don’t think any of them did really well. I’m proud of what (creator Kyle Jarrow and producer Bill Haber) did, I will be in business with them again.
Barely attempting to pretend that Valor has a future beyond its final Season 1 episodes, he added:
“We will take a hard look at everything in May for scheduling purposes.”
Are you a fan of Valor? Will you watch the remaining episodes and likely cliffhanger?
Stay tuned as we oversee Valor’s passing into the cancellation graveyard…

If you were looking for military dramas this season there were many much better options than Valor. As an Army vet myself, this show made me cringe so much that I barely made it through the first episode. I gave it three episodes before I gave up for good, but by then it was background noise as I did other things. I don’t expect complete realism in any tv show, but Valor missed the mark on so many points. It wasn’t a military drama but more of a soap opera with a military theme stamped on it.

I also am a Vet. The military is but a background to serve the end to present a soap opera

I liked Valor. I don’t think it was given a fair chance.
