Trapped, the crime drama created by Everest helmer and Icelandic multihyphenateBaltasar Kormakur, has been given a second season order by Iceland’s national broadcaster RUV. The news comes as a busy Kormakur is fresh off the Toronto premiere of his feature thriller The Oath, and as he preps his first comedy TV series,The Mayor. From Kormakur’s RVK Studios, RUV and Dynamic Television, Trappedwill make its Season 2 debut in fall 2018.
Based on an original idea by Kormakur, Trapped tells the story of a troubled cop investigating a grisly murder when his small Icelandic town is hit by a powerful blizzard, trapping the villagers — and most likely the killer — in the town. Season 2 will follow the same lead characters as they examine an even more complex and challenging murder case.

“I am so excited to get to assemble this great group of talent again” said Kormakur. “This story is far from over. There is a lot more to come, both storywise and also concerning our lead characters, I guess we all want to get to know them a little bit better”.
