NBC boss Robert Greenblatt has slammed fans who protest cancelled shows, such as Timeless, asking “where were you when the show was on the air?”:
.@NBC's #BobGreenblatt to fans who protest a show's cancellation, a la @NBCTimeless: "Where were you when the show was on the air?" #TCA17

"What I say to fans when they come out in droves when we cancel a show is where were you when we had the show on the air?" Greenblatt #TCA17

"A bunch of us really loved #Timeless [but] there were financial & ratings challenges. Collaborative passion swell" led to un-cancel. #TCA17

As known, Timeless was cancelled before being swiftly renewed for a second season, once the show’s costs were cut to make another round viable.
The cancellation reaper is confident of preventing a third season. Stay tuned to see whether Timeless can somehow escape his clutches yet again…

I loved this show and many others. I’m not in the young age I’m a baby boomer but still love all dramas sci fi horror. I hate reality shows

I am very thankful to NBC for doing what they had to do to bring Timeless back to the Fall Schedule 2017 – 2018. This is an Awesome show and it has so many Great Actors/Actresses that I thoroughly enjoy watching every week. I couldn’t wait to see where they were going to be next and if they would change something else in their future while they were in the past. It is a really great show that deserved a 2nd season, so thank you so very much to everyone at NBC and whoever else that had a hand in making the necessary adjustments for making this happen because I for one am a very satisfied and loyal viewer. Thank you

I was watching, but I am not in his “target audience”. I am well over 50. What I have never understood, is why target the younger demographic, when, quite frankly, there are more people from 35-60 who have more disposable income?
KayB says
I am right there with you Bridget! I honestly don’t know how these networks gauge their viewers. Do they count the people who record the show and watch at a later time? There are a lot of people who are over 35 and watch TV and none of my friends can stand ANY of the “reality” shows that so many of these networks put out there forever. They always seem to cancel the great shows and leave the garbage. Really, Really SAD!

I am 58 years old and my husband is 62. We love Timeless. I agree – you should be targeting the baby boomers!!! There are more of us. and yes we have more $ available.

I agree, my husband and I are also in our 60’s and we love the show Younger ppl only watch crap shows like reality TV and stupid sitcoms which should never have been aired at all.

My whole family loved this show. Where were we? We didn’t know about it till we heard from friends so then we purchased the whole season on DVD on planned to watch season two live. We don’t watch a lot of TV but LOVED this show and how it successfully left you on edge at the end of each episode, had you caring about all the characters, showed grey areas instead of just black and white, and showed the truth about history more than the history books. Ages 62, 37, and 13.

My husband and I watched the show every week and enjoyed. If NBC wanted to they could bring it back!
Brian says
The fans are always there just not measured because of the way they measure it, I record a entire season on the DVR before I watch, yeah thats how it works for busy people, also do not unrestimate the amount of peope who watch on illegal sites, those fans dont count but they are still there.
TV Execs are so clueless they have no idea what is going on.
Shirley says
Where was I Mr., Bobbin, WATHCING THE SHOW FAITHFULLY EVERY WEEK!!! But then again I am not your target audience either, I am 60. Love TV Drama, mix in Historical Facts and I am hooked. Also I am another one that HATES reality TV, and would really wish it would all be cancelled.
Jim says
This was a wonderful show. It had drama and history and that made it a really enjoyable program. Who in Gods green earth gets to vote on whether or not it is a success? I’ve never been polled on what I watch.
I do record and watch later when the program is very good. This NBC idiot needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He probably lays awake at night what kind of foolish cheap reality show to put on his pitiful network
Slasher says
62 here. We are the ones they should be targeting! We Still like this stuff. The “New-kids” have their head bent-down, and too-busy-looking-at-their-damn-phones! Target “US 60+ kids!”

I’m in my late 40’s and my co-worker who watched Season 1 is in her late 50’s……”Young” people just want to watch reality crap like the Kartrashians, not something that will teach them anything…..what is the NBC boss, Greenblatt, smoking?
Where was I when it was on the air? Tuning in EVERY week to see where the team were going next….sitting on the edge of my seat the whole hour….my co-worker and I talking about it the next day….thanks NBC for renewing it!
