Another one down, another one down, another on bites the dust.
We must say goodbye to Marvel’s The Punisher as well today. It only had a two year run and will not be revived for the third as Marvel and the streaming giant move in different directions.
Netflix issued the following statement (see Jessica Jones cancellation for the full statement from Marvel)
“Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix…Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come,” the streamer added.
“We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.”
Johnny Bernthal had his own goodbye to the role he’s played the past couple years:

Netflix cancelled all Marvel shows as Disney is setting up own service but Disney/Marvel have to wait two years before they can re start these shows..
