Positive news for The Muppets – or is it?
ABC has ordered three more episodes of the freshman entry, taking its first season up to 16 but short of a full 22-episode season order which would have represented a real vote of confidence.
As it is, the lack of a full season raises question marks about the show’s actual value at ABC.
The network had hedged its bets prior to launch by billing The Muppets as a ‘limited run’ series (as in a one-and-done/no second season).
However, had the series performed better in the ratings, the show would likely have been in serious contention for renewal.
As it stands, fans of The Muppets will get a further three episodes before meeting its, unless there’s another twist in the tail. Stay tuned to find out…

No big surprise here as anyone who is a fan of the show Forever will attest. After last year I have decided to try not watching new shows on ABC because they never seem to last, and if they do then I can catch up once I know a show will last. The big 3 stations (as they used to be called) ABC,NBC and CBS had better stop the habit of cancelling shows before they get a chance to catch on or these stations will find themselves left behind . In todays rush to judgement world even a great show like MASH would never make the grade , and that’s just not right.
