Chris Packham will host a new-look Springwatch Unsprung to accompany the upcoming series of Springwatch, live on BBC Two from 30 May. Starting each evening at 6.30pm for the show’s three-week run, Unsprung will air live Monday-Thursday with a pre-recorded show on Friday.
The programme will set questions, challenges and calls to action for viewers ahead of the main show, and there will also be a chat section where Chris will host interviews and performances from high-profile guests. Chris will also be inviting both amateur naturalists and professional wildlife experts to join him on the sofa, as well as a live studio audience who will bring their own wildlife stories and passions to air.For viewers at home, Unsprung will offer the chance to share their favourite wildlife moments via social media through digital reporter Lindsey Chapman. The show will set quizzes and challenges as well as host Q&A sessions with each guest, who will face timed wildlife tests.
Chris Packham says: “Springwatch Unsprung is Springwatch with its hair down. On this show we want to make it easy for people to get out, spot wildlife and learn to recognise what is right on their doorstep. There will be plenty of opportunities for viewers who are passionate about wildlife to get involved, test their knowledge with the Q&As, and share their stories. Springwatch Unsprung is all about audience participation.”
