HBO has cancelled Sharp Objects after one season.
Despite plans for a second season of the limited series, the cabler has opted not to extend the series beyond one season.
HBO president of programming Casey Bloys said, per Deadline:
“Unlike Big Little Lies where all of the stars wanted to come back, Sharp Objects, it’s a very dark character, very dark material. Amy doesn’t want to live in this character again and I can’t blame her, it’s a lot to take on for an actress. So no plans for a second season. We are very happy with this living as a limited-run series.”
RIP.

Absolutely no problem with Sharp Objects being cancelled. I have been bored out of my skull with this. If you want a really exciting serial killer show, watch “100 Code” on WGN. Now, that is exciting, not like this yawn fest.

OMG LOL THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GONG TO SAY! FOR THE FIRST TIME ONE OF MY SHOWS HAS BEEN CANCELLED THAT I CAN ACTUALLY AGREE WITH THE CANCELLATION….THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BORING SHOWS EVER! DON’T KNOW HOW IT MADE SEASON 1!

Greenmantis,
I agree. Amy Adams has been about as interesting in this show as a slug.

LOL TRUE!

I thought I was the only one who was bored by this snooze fest. The book was so good, but the series made so many unnecessary changes and additions. It doesn’t due the source material justice. Yawn!

Definitely not bored, just very bothered watching a totally messed up character like Camille needing to do the things she does to get through her day. I can see why Amy Adams doesn’t want to revisit this character, but she should at least get an Emmy nod.

I loved the series! But what is happening after the names came up at the end? Did you see that? One and a half minutes of flashes!! Very disturbing flashes!!! It could have been missed by many, because it only came up after the names at the end!?
What do you think was that all about? Would love to know!!
