Talks are reportedly ongoing to save cancelled Freeform drama Shadowhunters, but Netflix are not among the interested players, according to Deadline:
Producer Constantin Film would be eager to carry on with the show with its existing partners or with others, but it needs the U.S. and international components to continue production. Moszkowicz tells me Constantin is “amazed by the dedication and persistence of the incredible fandom of Shadowhunters and the #SaveShadowhunters campaign. We are in ongoing discussions with the network and Netflix to how we can continue to bring Cassandra Claire’s vision to television.”
A Netflix spokesperson has told Deadline, “No Netflix negotiations are taking place to extend Shadowhunters beyond the 12 new episodes planned to premiere in 2019.” This does not preclude another platform picking up the series.
Moszkowicz has clarified there are talks about the two final episodes. He also adds that Constantin is in discussions with various broadcasters and platforms on Clare’s The Infernal Devices which would include Shadowhunters crossover characters.
Unless another platform steps in, Shadowhunters will end its run after three seasons, with the final batch of episodes, titled Shadowhunters: The Final Hunt, slated to air spring 2019.
Have you accepted Shadowhunters’ fate? Still hoping for Season 4 elsewhere?
Anne Mejlhede says
I have not accepted a cancellation of Shadowhunters. We need to find this show a new home.
I’m very disappointed by Netflix. They have been quiet so long just to do this. They should have told us sooner.

I’m so tired of favorite shows being cancelled. The two I absolutely refuse to accept (call me the worlds greatest optimist why don’t you) are Shadowhunters and Timeless. Please don’t cancel Shadowhunters!
Tanya Weber says
Well if we couldn’t save Timeless I doubt you will succeed in this one. Netflix wouldn’t take on that one either. I don’t understand it…there are SO many good shows that get cancelled and meanwhile these mindless, not funny sitcoms go on forever and far too many reality shows. But they don’t have to pay the reality people much so that’s why that happens. Sad
Heather Larkin says
We as fans don’t accept that the show is ending . They need a new home this show is great well written and great actors . Save Shadowhunters!!!!!!!
Jim Lawrence-Plant says
hi must agree 100% with the comment by Tanya Weber I Just can not understand why people want to watch the sitcoms that are basically the same week after week and reality TV the only reason it is a success his it cost nothing to produce and all the money people in advertising want this kind of rubbish and all the streaming providers like Netflix they are Just has bad the cheaper it cost’s to produce the better who cares when the majority want to watch crap and pay for it?
