Sense8 fell well short of its five season plan, but the cancelled Netflix drama will get the benefit of a two-hour series finale wrap up.
Speaking to RadioTimes, actress Freema Agyeman admits the final chapter of the sci-fi series wont satisfy all questions:
“[Series creator] Lana Wachowski had this five-year story arc; obviously I don’t know how that’s going to be affected now, considering we’re only two seasons in.
This special – I don’t know if it’s going to serve to answer all the questions, I really don’t know. I do know it probably won’t end on a huge cliffhanger like season two did, because should it not come back that would just… that’s what made everybody kick off I think.”
However, Agyeman hopes the special could yet serve as a launch pad for a surprise third season revival, somewhere down the line:
“I don’t know whether this special is going to serve to wrap up all the loose ends, or whether there’s going to be some sort of agreement or arrangement for moving forward, continuing with that story arc. I don’t know – I’m looking forward to finding out.”
However, if a full third season revival doesn’t materialize, Agyeman says she wouldn’t hold it against Netflix — given the show’s expense — but believes fans deserved better:
“They shoot in 14 countries, it’s a massively expensive show – at the end of the day it’s showbusiness, this is a business, somebody is counting the bottom line. It’s a business! But I think the fans felt really cheated that it ended on such a huge cliffhanger.”
Are you looking forward to the two-hour series finale of Sense8? Still hoping for Season 3?
