Second Chance is already in cancellation territory as FOX dumps the series to Fridays after two low-rated episodes.
Per THR:
The low-rated freshman drama, which has not managed to retain much of its American Idol lead-in on its first two Wednesday nights, is losing the time slot to Hell’s Kitchen. The Frankenstein-inspired drama averaged just a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers during its second episode. It will now air Fridays at 9 p.m.
Effective next Wednesday, Jan. 27, its old time slot will belong to Gordon Ramsay’s original culinary competition.
Per Deadline:
Behind a solidly performing final season of American Idol, Second Chance got off to a low ratings start, with the premiere logging a 1.2 in adults 18-49 (Live+same day), which ticked up just a bit, to 1.4 in Live+3. The drama held onto less than half of itsIdol lead-in. The second episode slipped further, to a 1.0 in L+SD, indicating no upside for the show, which also garnered tepid reviews.
Barring a dramatic turn of fortunes, the move all but signals the supernatural drama’s demise, though FOX will cling to the idea that it represents a genuine ‘second chance’ for the series.
One thing is certain, there will not be a third chance for the series.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the status of Second Chance…

This is one, if not the best, show on television right now. My co-workers and I watch it a second time on Sundays so we have all of our comments and talking points fresh in mind. Since the show was poorly marketed, it is now really up to word of mouth. Before reading the article stating that it was based on Frankenstein, I honestly thought Pritchard was slowly becoming a super hero and Otto was going to eventually become a villain and I thought the female character who forcibly had the wings tattooed on her stomach was going to make a re-appearance. Whatever the direction the show takes, I love it and I’m in for the ride. Great cast, great stories and I absolutely love how they interact with one another. I hope Fox does not cancel it.
Gina says
I would be very upset if you cancel this show! It’s so good. Why does fox and abc cancel all the good shows and keep the stupid ones on!
Gus says
I have to agree with you. Fox, ABC get rid of the stupid show if you want, but listen to the fans of the truly great shows like Second Chance, Sleepy Hollow and many more………….
Anna schubert says

Louis Bonder says
Second Chance is an interesting show. The cast is well cast, especially Prichard. I’m not certain where it goes from here with the death of a central character, Otto. However, with some ingenious writing, I would very much enjoy another season..
Jeremiah Mann says
Second Chance deserves to come back. Screw what Fox thinks. It’s all about the fans

Second Chance deserves a “Second Chance”. One of the best television shows to come along in a long time. As exciting as the Pay-Tv series (ie: Sopranos, Ray Donovan, True Detective, etc…..) Please reconsider, and give it another shot, along with some publicity this time.
TheMom says
What the heck?!? This was a very entertaining, imaginative show. Could have gone on to be a great program! It did stumble a bit mid-season, but the story line picked itself back up and promised good stuff in the future.
We stumbled upon it accidentally – where was the advertising? Good old Fox shoots itself in the foot…again. This is why nobody watches freshman shows there. Why bother? They cancel them far too quickly and don’t give them a chance to develop. The network is too trigger happy for its own good.
