CraveTV has cancelled What Would Sal Do? after one season.
In a statement, series creator Andrew De Angelis confirmed that the comedy didn’t make the cut for Season 2:
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of What Would Sal Do? Unlike Jesus, our little show will not return.
We had a good run. Well… we had an ok run. Who am I kidding, we had a run. This sucks. There, I said it.
But here’s what didn’t suck: getting the chance to make the show I wanted to make – no compromises, no regrets.
Here’s another thing that didn’t suck: working with Mark Montefiore Pat O’Sullivan, Cameron MacClaren and everyone at NewMetric media. This show doesn’t exist without their tireless work, passion and dedication. Their insights not only made Sal a better show, they made me a better writer.
I always said that if I ever got a show, I would staff it with writers who were better than me. Kurt Smeaton, Mark Forward, Alex Levine, Mark De Angelis, Steve Dylan, Brandy Hewitt and Karen Moore fit that bill. Thank you for elevating the show to a place I could never have done on my own.
So many highlights, but one the best was watching this amazing cast bring the show to life. I created the show, but they created magic. Don’t know if I deserved to work with that much talent, but I’m so lucky I did.
And finally, the amazing crew. They are talented, passionate, kind, smart, dedicated, and the show wouldn’t be what it is without them. The show I wanted to make was good, the show they made was great.
And finally, big thanks to CraveTV and Bell Media for giving this show a home.“If you change your perception of what a miracle can be, you’ll see them all around you.” Jon Bon Fucking Jovi.
What Would Sal Do? was originally saved by CraveTV after it was cancelled in prior to premiere by Super Channel. Now, savior has turned destroyer.
RIP.
