Having revived the show in 2015, HBO has now cancelled Project Greenlight after four seasons, Matt Damon has confirmed.
The exec producer told AP he was “shocked” that the cabler didn’t renew his and Ben Affleck’s filmmaking documentary series for a fifth season.
This marks Project Greenlight‘s second cancellation, following its 2005 axing at Bravo (after Season 3).
However, Damon says Season 5 will be shopped to other outlets, in the hope that a streaming service like Netflix or Amazon will rescue it from the graveyard.
RIP.
