“I don’t think I’ve ever written a happy ending,” Nolan said with a laugh, when asked what hope there was for the team. “We’re not keen on happy endings here. Way back in the pilot, Finch promised that ‘this will end messily for all of them’ and I think we fulfilled the mandate.”

Person Of Interest Season 6 At New Network? ‘Never Say Never’
GY says
It’s a shame that a weekly TV program, which makes a person think about outcomes, technology, and human-machine inter-relationships, would be cancelled. CBS owes viewers the reason(s) for the cancellation of POI. Is the cancellation due to story-writing difficulties (e.g., in a rut on the “fight” between the Machine and Samaritan), technical production capabilities, or possible adverse psychological impacts on viewers of the man-machine relationship? Imaginative writers, directors, and Executives should be able to come up with suitable stories to expand POI by extrapolating current technological capabilities and future human-machine relationsips. Other Programs, which were more involved with the future (e. g., Star Trek) provided much “food” for human thought, became icons in TV Programs, and allowed the viewers to imagine the future.

It’s really too bad that an exciting show like POI is being cancelled when it has some relevance to our here and now. Yet networks keep renewing the “reality” type shows that are no one’s reality.
