Having called for the show’s cancellation earlier this month, Parents Television Council President Tim Winter has now applauded Of Kings and Prophets swift demise:
“The only reason networks cancel a show without burning off the remaining episodes is that there is no advertiser support. The dollars simply aren’t there, and it is more economical for them to air something else entirely – despite the fact that they’ve paid for those unaired episodes. And based on the conversations we’ve had over the past few days with several of the most premiere sponsors in the country – during which we questioned their underwriting such over-the-top graphic violence in Of Kings and Prophets, it was clear that advertiser support for the show was quickly evaporating. While we applaud ABC’s cancellation of the show, we can’t help but wonder why they would choose to air it in the first place.”

Well, Tim Winter, you are a moron!
There is plenty of violence, sex, bad language, etc, in shows which are not biblically based. Why are you not making a fuss about them? There was a warning after all. You want to complain about your little feelings, well imagine how Jesus felt being flayed, forced to wear a crown of thorns & nailed to a cross! How about that all shows & movies these days seem to be required to say GD even though it offends a good percentage of Americans; do you complain about that!
The advertiser funding disappears because jerks like you complain till the advertiser is afraid to be involved. So to say it was this that caused this great show to be cancelled is not exactly true.
Wish I could be a fly on the wall when you face Him for your judgement day!

well said Alice Johnson. Wonder what “they” say about all the violence in the actual bible;, guess it is easier to whitewash the events and bible stories for TV viewers. Kudos to the advertisers who did support and continue to support quality television.
