The sun appears to have permanently set on Midnight, Texas, at least on NBC anyways.
NBC has chosen not to renew the show, based on Charlaine Harris’s books, for a third season after ratings and viewership has dropped following the 9-episode second season. With a number of cast departures and a change at showrunner, the supernatural drama was not able to replicate it’s season one success.
The ninth and final episode of Midnight, Texas will air this Friday 8/7c on NBC. Producing studio Universal Television is shopping the show around to see if there is any interest in a third season elsewhere.
RIP.
