Canada’s CTV has renewed detective drama Motive for Season 4.
Per THR, production on the procedural’s 13-episode fourth season begins in Vancouver this fall, taking the series total to 52 episodes.
The news is bittersweet for US fans of Motive, as ABC has decided to pull the plug on the series after three seasons.
It’s currently unclear whether another network or platform will pick-up the fourth season of Motive for US audiences. Stay tuned.

ABC wouldn’t know a good show if it bit them in the butt. Motive is a great show. Will be missed

ABC has dropped a number of good shows lately……replacing them with silly sitcoms and/or science fictions. It seems the CEO of prime time shows interest is in that area. His or hers choice but not mine.
Hopefully another network and/or it will be streamed by another program.

Get the app droid tv- you can still get auto downloads of Motive even if it does not air in USA. You can get auto downloads of many tv shows- some from pay channels like showtime & hbo. My fave app ever. Cheap too. You choose your faves no commercials

ABC used to be the most watched channel several years ago. They’re going downhill fast. The fans of Motive and Forever should ignore all the new shows by ABC. They need to wake up and start caring again what the viewers want.

Damn! I looked forward to watching this during the summer! I’m just gonna have to stop watching tv all together. Why get into a show when it’s then cancelled without resolution!

This show was one of our favorites and i was so hoping ABC would renew it. Instead we get Astronauts Wives whatever. COME ABC wake up.

Love this show. Couldn’t watch it on ABC but YouTube is free . I watched it there. There is not one show that I watch on ABC. I don’t even try anymore because every show that I like they cancel.

How is it that ABC gets to cancel a Canadian made tv show? They did the same thing with Rookie Blue that was made in Toronto by Global/Shaw network….
I don’t get it? what am I missing about these cancellation decisions? It’s quite frustrating to see our favorite shows disappearing after just a few seasons.
WHY please someone explain this to me?
thanks
