Mistresses Season 5 renewal remains up in the air, but EP Rina Mimoun is hoping to convince ABC to grant the series a final fifth season to wrap the story up, per TVLine:
“[With Season 4], they didn’t tell us to make a series finale. [We’re in the process of trying to pitch the network on the idea of] a final fling [of 13 episodes to air in 2017]. We really feel like there’s one more year of story to tell, but we’re also looking for a graceful way to wrap up the series. There’d be some new hot messes in the mix, and we’d be moving back toward the kind of racy romp that Mistresses was when it began.”
Asked whether the show has painted itself into a corner given the last two original mistresses, Joss and April, are each happily married and with new babies at the end of Season 4, she replied:
“Not at all. We have a 10-page pitch for Season 5. We are not going to suddenly become a show about April and Joss pushing swings on the playground and chatting about breast milk. We want to make a wide left turn that still allows us to stay true to the characters. We’re not going to become ‘the baby show’ if we get another season, I can promise you that. We have some real fun planned.
Stay tuned as to find out whether Mistresses is cancelled or renewed for a fifth and final season at ABC…

Please re-consider and give the show Mistresses another chance. The fans really need that fifth season to tie up loose ends. There are so many different avenues for this show to explore. We look forward to each juicy episode. The actors, writers, and the rest of the staff have done such an excellent job with the show. So please make us all happy and bring back our show.

I agree! The way it ended was a cliff hanger. Please at least do a few episodes to finish it off! Love this show
