Survival permitting, Midnight, Texas Season 2 will draw from the second book in the source material trilogy, EP Monica Owusu-Breen has hinted.
Speaking to EW, Owusu-Breen confirmed that the NBC drama’s first season will pull from the first and third books, while navigating its own course, leaving book two for the potential second season:
“Charlaine Harris created an amazing world in the Midnight, Texas Trilogy. And in her books, she slowly peels back the secrets and mysteries of this remote little crossroads town and it’s residents. But TV works at a different pace, and so we reveal a lot more a lot faster…. In terms of the story of season 1 — our plot — this season is a combination of the first and third books in the trilogy, Midnight Crossroads and Nightshift. There are moments, relationships and villains taken from those two books.”
Midnight, Texas Season 1 premieres July 24, 2017 on NBC. Will the series live to navigate book two?
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of
Midnight, Texas Season 2…

I love this show. Only one of two shows I even bother to watch anymore. Just too much garbage on tv but I love Charlaine Harris books and the show is good. I have my fingers crossed this gets a renewal but who knows. They renew junk and cancel good shows now.

I love this show.like other comments they scrap the good ones and renew the junk. i guess i’ll have to watch season one over and over. what is the matter with these networks don’t they listen to the people who watch the shows.

Great show ! I liked each different character that you came up with and how they all have a own different types of power and you get to hear their story and problems. How the town came about with a whole lot of different characters in it makes for a better storyline each week. Good versus evil is always a good choice!
