ABC Family has cancelled comedy Melissa & Joey after its current fourth season, to conclude summer 2015.
The network confirmed via statement that there will not be a Melissa & Joey Season 5, saying “it seemed like a natural time to bring the series to a close”:
“Melissa & Joey will be wrapping production on its final season this week. The comedy will conclude its storyline at the end of the fourth season, to air later this summer.
We are proud of the milestones Melissa & Joey has achieved, being the network’s first sitcom to reach 100 episodes and the network’s first comedy to win a People’s Choice Award. Now that the kids are grown and Mel and Joe have married and are looking towards starting a family, it seemed like a natural time to bring the series to a close. We are grateful to Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, and the whole cast and crew who worked so hard on this successful show.”
Melissa & Joey‘s cancellation follows the network’s recent renewals of Chasing Life and The Fosters.
Melissa & Joey is not expected to continue elsewhere. However, stay tuned for any potential updates on the cancelled sitcom.
RIP.

There is finally a good show with good family values worth watching and you guys find a way to end it. Two of my favorite childhood actors. If you can not find a good reasons to bring them back at least replace them with something worth while.
