Will Lucifer‘s salvation lead to Season 5, 6 and beyond?
The cancelled Fox series has been saved by Netflix for Season 4, however, there are no plans to make that the last in the revived devil drama’s run.
Speaking to TVLine, co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich explained what attracted Netflix to saving Lucifer (beyond the primary $$$ viability factor):
“What we have been told, basically, is 1) they love the show, and 2) they loved the fan reaction. They really noticed it. The fans were heard, and that’s the biggest thing that we should convey. They saw the passion of the fans, and apparently a number of people over there just like the show.”
Adds Modrovich:
“With social media, the fans now can make a difference, and that is the coolest part of this whole experience. They really feel ownership, like, ‘Hey, we got our show back,’ and I love that.”
Modrovich notes that should Lucifer prove successful enough on Netflix, “there is always the potential for more” seasons beyond the upcoming 4th:
As noted by the publication, Netflix Season 4 on Netflix begins production August 2018.
Lucifer Season 4 is slated to stream in 2019.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of Lucifer Season 5…

Thanks Netflix for listening to all of Lucifer’s fans! I had high hopes that you were the network to save Lucifer. I’m looking forward to watching season 4 & I feel there’s so many ways this show can evolve to live on for many more seasons to come.
