TNT has cancelled The Librarians after four seasons. The Turner-owned network has opted not to renew the adventure series for Season 5.
Series creator Dean Devlin broke the news:
Just got the official call. TNT has cancelled The Librarians.
A defiant Devlin said The Librarians Season 5 will be shopped to other platforms:
I will immediately begin the process of trying to move the show elsewhere. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

TNT sucks like that! I hope they can find another network to take the show.. I know lots of people would love to see another season or 3 or 4! I will not be watching TNT anymore as this was the only show that I watched on that network anyway
Riv says
I am not happy about them cancelling the Librarians either,,, it would have been to see at least one more season.
Although I did see the possibility of the last episode of S4 serving as either season finale or series finale.
Lets hope another network will pick them up… it think it should be the CW were the Librarians deserve to be with all the other supernatural type of shows.
Well darn it@!!!
Francene says
NO,No,No!!!! I LOVE this show and they left us hanging of course. Please renew on a station we watch or have Netflix grab!! It was bad enough they killed off Jenkins now they are killing off the whole show!! Darn, Darn!!
Mike says
I guess you didn’t watch the last episode. Jenkins character didn’t die. At least there is going to be an effort to try and save the show. Hopefully someone will pick it up.
Pat says
Can’t believe this! Hopefully another network will pick this up. I loved the movies and the series. I would never have thought it would get cancelled. There are other shows out there that deserve to be cancelled, yet they get renewed. Unbelievable!

Another great show cancelled.

“The Librarians” is the last “ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING” show that my family has been watching on TNT.
The network has steadily, one-by-one, been cancelling all of their best shows and this one is the last for me and my family.
TNT will remain our favorite DAYTIME network because it re-runs my family’s favorite show “Supernatural” daily. (We are SO addicted to “Supernatural” that we watch it EVERY SINGLE DAY.) We sometimes watch “Bones” and classic episodes of “Law & Order,” too.( We used to love watching “Grimm” every day, too, until they dropped it.
I’m sorry that “The Librarians” has at last joined the long list of OTHER cancelled TNT shows that MY family just LOVED to watch — “The Closer” and “Major Crimes,”Falling Skies,” “Cold Justice,” “Leverage,” “Saving Grace,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” Perception” and the short-lived “Will.”
You can probably tell that we don’t watch much “regular” network programming anymore so this news of cancellation is ESPECIALLY sad for US.
Should TNT ever stop re-running “Supernatural” then we will be completely DONE with watching this network FOR GOOD.
(Sorry this turned out to be so long.)
Kelly Tully says
Hi, We also LOVED “WILL”, I was shocked that was cancelled! But TNT has come out with some Great new series over the past few summers, I can only speak for myself, but I think “Animal Kingdom” is Awesome! And then “CLAWS” was a surprising HIT LAST SUMMER! Great cast, great story, and it’s neither Comedy or Drama, it’s More less ”DRAMEDY”. Which is a genre I like immensely. Now currently the mini-series “The Alienist” is Terrific, but pretty graphic. If your not into that kind of thing. Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning, etc.. are a fabulous cast! The story is so intriguing! Now a Series called “The Terror” starts soon also. All the shows you listed that you watched, I didn’t follow any. Between Netflix, Hulu, n Amazon, n all the other cable channels it’s hard to keep up with all the Great new series being released! I’d say, maybe you should give some other Shows a chance there are just a ton out there right now. ❤️
Red says
Good-bye TNT! You’ve now blown up what was the left of our relationship by canceling The Librarians!
MayMarti says
I loved the three Librarian movies and loved the series from episode one. I would HATE to see it end. I’ve seen too many good shows disappear! However, I sincerely hope another network will pick it up and it won’t go as so many to a streaming or other media that I can’t access. (I’m retired and on fixed income.) If nothing else they should give us a wrap-up episode!!! Seems every show I like eventually gets cancelled, unfortunately. Color me disappointed and sad!
Charles Marcinko says
While I am not surprised by this news since I saw the news around the time of the final episode airing that the higher ups at TNT were going in another directions for shows and that this was a possibility. I am still sadden for the show ending. The finale was a good way to end it but I hope that it does find a new network to go to. I’m sure all of the actors will be able to find new work somewhere and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. As far as TNT, the only thing I’m still watching is the final season of the Last Ship.
Jeri says
I love this show. I’ve watched it faithfully. I hate reality TV and all the drama. TNT is not leaving me much to watch anymore. The only show I have left is the Last Ship and then I will be done with TNT.
Shirley says
BOOOOOO TNT! I loved this show. I am with you Jeri. Only show on TNT is Last Ship, and watch they will can that great show too!
RM Voron says
This is officially the end of our TNT viewing. They used to have such great shows, shows like “The Closer”, “Major Crimes, “Cold Justice”, “Rizzoli & Isles”, ” Perception” and now “The Librarians”. I really hope another station picks this up, it’s a wonderful original family show. We used to love this channel, but not anymore.
Carole says
I love this show – especially when Noah Wyle is present! Absolutely gutted it’s been cancelled…TNT you suck & I hope they find another Network
Linda says

Shirley says

Pami says
what a crock!! We loved this show!! funny, entertaining, and just plain great! Why do they keep the idiotic shows and cancel all the good ones??!!! I hope another network picks it up.
Annemette Leth Nielsen says
Yeah it totally sucks, that they cancelled the show. We can’t actually watch it in Denmark, but I stumbled across it by accident, so I’ve been buying the seasons on dvd everytime the seasons ended. I love the original movies. So I was thrilled that they made a show – and then to cancel it after just 4 seasons. It seems the networks has a tendency to cancel the good shows after only a short time. Bring it Back.
Charlene says
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE find someplace to continue this series.
Momster says
TV is dying. Good stuff gets cancelled (or doesn’t get a chance to develop), and bad/reality garbage remains. More and more reasons to do puzzles and have family game nights.
David Stokes says
another good show axed hope someone picks it up it seems as soon as a show is a success in there wisdom they cancel it !
