The Last Ship is sinking… or is it?
Despite seemingly letting the cancellation cat out of the bag, TNT has semi-denied Travis Van Winkle‘s claim that the military drama wont resurface for Season 6, per TVLine:
“We shot two seasons simultaneously; the fourth is currently on the air and the fifth will return next summer. We greenlit the fifth with the idea that it could be the final season, however it’s far too early to make that determination.”
In cancelled/renewed terms, that’s not exactly a vote of confidence from TNT, particularly in light of the evidence.
Barring a u-turn, the final season of The Last Ship is expected to release summer 2018.

I really liked this show. Any time I spend my time invested in a show, I think it is a waist for the network to do the viewers wrong. When a show is doing well it should keep going.I could say a lot more but I will keep it to myself.

Boo TNT! Take off great shows, add more garbage reality shows.

The acting is good but the story line this season is disappointing.
The outcome can be surmised before the plot is even totally
revealed. This one crew can only fight so many battles. Tired tired show!

Please DON’T cancel The Last Ship! It is a great show with great actors/actresses and characters. We don’t want or need any “reality” shows, they are ridiculously boring!
Renew. Renew, Renew…for as long as possible.

If TNT cancels “The Last Ship”, I won’t be watching any new TV shows on TNT.
