I’m Dying Up Here Season 2 premieres May 6, 2018, but Showtime chief David Nevins suggests its renewal was almost scuppered by having Twin Peaks as a lead-in.
Gary Levine: "We make no apologies for #TwinPeaks, other than as a lead-in for #ImDyingUpHere.” #TCA18

With Twin Peaks cancelled, I’m Dying Up Here will have a completely different lead-in for Season 2, and will apparently explore “relevant” topics in its quest for Season 3:
Levine says they make no apologies for #TwinPeaks except for it as a lead-in to #ImDyingUpHere. Season 2 of #IDUH will explore "relevant" topics despite its period piece nature. Melissa Leo and Ari Graynor's characters will be explored deeper. #TCA18

Will I’m Dying Up Here meets its demise with Season 2, or can the series survive for Season 3? Stay tuned…
