Disney Channel has cancelled I Didn’t Do It after two seasons.
The writers of the teen sitcom broke the news on Twitter that tonight’s episode isn’t just the second season finale, but series finale, ruling out continuation into a third season.

The cancellation of I Didn’t Do It is further confirmed by the official press release for what is now the “series finale”:

Meanwhile, co-star Peyton Clark shared her feelings about the show’s cancellation on Instagram:
Well, I hate to say it, but…all good things come to an end. And tonight, “I Didn’t Do It” comes to an end. A little too soon, perhaps, but what can you do? Thank you to all the fans who supported the show. You guys are the best, and I hope you stick around even after the show is over. I love you, I love my cast, and I’ve loved having the opportunity to work on such a wonderful project with such wonderful people. So tune in tonight at 9:00/8:00c for one last adventure with the fab five…on

I think the mistake Disney made was to abandon the “what just happened here” concept from season 1. This attracted attention even from regular broadcast network reviewers, who gave the show high marks and recommendations, comparing it favorably to network shows. That was the hook that drew viewers in. Making it another teen comedy was a mistake.

This was probably by far my favorite Disney Channel show. I loved everything about the show. I was asked at my school to write a 3 page paper and do a poster board for my senior project on tv and the affctes it has on kids and adults. I wrote about I Didnt Do It. I wrote about how no matter what age you are you are never to old for Disney Channel and I Didnt Do It was a great example why. I hate that the show is over, it breaks my heart.
