Warning – this story contains spoilers for Heroes Reborn – continue at your own risk…
NBC cancelled Heroes Reborn last month, but Sendhil Ramamurthy has provided a window into what would have happened in Season 6, had the show existed in a universe where the Cancellation Reaper doesn’t ply his trade.
While NBC and creator Tim Kring insist Heroes Reborn was a ‘one-off’ story (presumably in fear of admitting the show was axed for a second time), there were plans to continue into future seasons — had the ratings been good enough.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the actor revealed that Season 6 would have seen the rebirth of his seemingly doomed character, Dr Mohinder Suresh :
“I know that if there were to have been a [sixth] season, that [series creator] Tim Kring had already spoken to me about my schedule.
I think if it had done amazingly well, he would’ve tried to come up with some more story.
With NBC and Kring leaving the door open for another Heroes reboot, Ramamurthy suggests it may not happen on TV:
“I think he has other plans for it now. Not necessarily on television, but using different platforms. I’m not quite sure where he’s heading with all that.”
Stay tuned as we observe the cancellation graveyard for signs of another Heroes rebirth…
