NBC cancelled Grimm with a shortened sixth and final season, but the concluding 13 episodes were almost increased to a full 22, showrunner James Kouf tells TVLine:
“There was a chance that we would have gotten 22 [episodes], and we were going, ‘Oh my God. You know, 123 times through the fairy-tale world, and you start getting a little slim.”
With Season 7 removed from the equation, cancellation notice came early enough to map an ending of sorts, allowing the show to die with “dignity,” according to series star David Giuntoli:
“First of all, it was very lovely to be able to get a final anything in life where you know it’s the final anything. It doesn’t just get pulled out from under you, so that was nice. I like to call it the Oregon, death-with-dignity, kind-of-our-hospice run.”
Does that mean ‘closure’? Co-star Silas Weir Mitchell believes the end will be “satisfying”:
“I think [the writers are] trying to answer questions for the people that have stuck with us, man. The fans have stuck with us from this night to that night and this time to that time. They deserve answers. They deserve the satisfaction of an ending.”
Stay tuned as we observe Grimm’s journey into the TV afterlife…

Grim is one of my favorite shows. I DVR it so I don’t miss it. But I do wait a few days. But I was looking at my DVR Timers and Grim is the only show (except Ninja Warriors) that I watch on that channel. That is how bad their TV line up is. Most are not from the main channels. Reality TV is not good TV. Channel 4 wise up.

I was VERY sad when I found out this was the last season for Grimm. It was such a different show from all the rest of tv. My husband and I absolutely love the show and can’t understand why all the good shows end way too early. I wish the fans could at least have been given a full season but I guess I should be happy that we get an ending instead of a cliffhanger with no end. So sad. The writers deserve a gold medal for their imagination not to mention the Wesson’s appearance. Wow very impressed and will miss it greatly!!
