They may be low-rated, but FOX has given freshman comedies Grandfathered and The Grinder a show of faith by ordering six additional scripts for each series.
As Deadline reports:
Fox brass’ decision to order more scripts was based on seeing upcoming episodes of both shows that are yet to air, the series’ upscale, diverse audiences, and the general rule that comedies usually take longer to build. The move comes a couple of hours after Grandfather star Stamos today was formally charged with DUI, potentially facing up to six months in jail.
Grandfathered and The Grinder will air new episodes next Tuesday before taking a weeklong break for the World Series. They join new Fox drama Rosewood, which has receibed an order for 3 more scripts.
