Winter will arrive a little later than anticipated.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 was expected to arrive in April, but will be delayed until later in 2017, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed on the UFC Unfiltered podcast:
“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later.”
However, rather than stringing the endgame out, the duo put the delay down to storytelling:
“We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more.
So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Game Of Thrones is currently set to end with Season 8.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the endgame status of Game Of Thrones…
