Fear The Walking Dead Season 4 will crossover with The Walking Dead, but departing showrunner Dave Erickson believes the spinoff series could have “easily” continued on a singular path through Season 5.
Speaking to Deadline, Erickson suggested a crossover with the mothership series is unnecessarily until at least Season 6:
think it’s going to be a big turn, and it’s going to be something that’s going to pique interest. I think that it’s definitely something that’s going to juice ratings. There’s a lot of reasons why you’d want to approach it this way.
My personal feeling is that the story is strong enough in Fear, that we could have easily continued for another two seasons, without the need for the crossover. But that said, I don’t know how that’s going to manifest. It could be something more amazing than anything I have imagined. So, I don’t know that it taints it. I just think that it’s an interesting narrative challenge. You know, it’s a lot to juggle, but I’m sure that Scott and Robert have a good line on it.
Are you looking forward to The Walking Dead/Fear The Walking Dead spinoff, or should the two stories be kept apart?
John Bridwell says
The two series should remain separate, I believe it will ruin both and I do enjoy them.

I agree keep that sad soppy Walking dead away from Fear the walking dead its a lot better than the so called mothership series.

I Love both! Fear the Walking Dead has it’s ongoing story line,, and it gives AMC, and Dead fans the best of both worlds, (so to speak).
I know Morgan is going to Fear, so that will be interesting to see how his character will come to light~
Big Fan!
