Fargo Season 4? The FX drama will be cancelled/in limbo for a few years at least, with creator Noah Hawley reiterating that there are no current plans for a fourth season of the crime/anthology series.
However, keeping hope alive for the future, Hawley projects that the fourth season could happen “three years from now,” per Deadline:
“Please don’t tell people this is the end,” says Fargo series creator Noah Hawley about the recent news that there may never be another season of the FX show. “Right now, I just can’t point to (a production start) date on the calendar.”
“I always agreed with FX that the only reason to do another Fargo is if the creative is there,” says Hawley, who at the moment is drawing a blank in regards to what Season 4 would center around.
“It took 15 months to get Season 2 off the ground, and 18 months to get Season 3 on the air. I have to turn my attention to the second season of Legion and a film potentially the winter after next. We’re looking at three years from now,” the EP about a rough timeline for a Fargo Season 4.
While we have an arbitrary timeline for the possible return of Fargo, there’s nothing concrete and the show cannot hide from the reaper for three years.
The situation may be fluid, but for now at least, Fargo can be deemed ‘soft cancelled’.
RIP.

Why???? I love that show.

I think Noah Hawley answered “why” pretty clearly: He’s out of ideas for Fargo and plans to focus on Legion and a movie for the next 3 years.

Regarding “Fargo” , the last show showed the female detective figuring it all out and then months later VM Varga gets He says he will never be imprisoned because a high up person who is up the food chain from her will come in and say he is free to go. But it ends there. So my question, since this is a true story that really happened, did VM Varga go to jail? If so, is he still in jail? And I assume that is not his real name?
Thanks for a great Fargo season (S).

Fargo is not really based on true stories. The blurb at the beginning of the shows are just tongue-in-cheek. Checked it out on Snopes, among other fact-checking sources, and all say the Fargo stories are not true.

Yup they were just trying to keep it going like the movie which was based on a few true events. Nothing after that in the series is true and actually the last Fargo was based on a dream!
