HEAD BACK TO AMERICA’S LAST FRONTIER TOWN WITH “EDGE OF ALASKA”
** Season 2 Premieres Friday, August 14th at 9PM ET/PT **
(New York, NY) – Deep in the wilds of eastern Alaska is the America’s last true frontier town: McCarthy. EDGE OF ALASKA follows those holding on to their isolated town, surrounded by extreme wilderness, as they struggle with new settlers who are trying to bring their home into the 21st century. The series returns to Discovery Channel on Friday, August 14th at 9PM ET/PT.
Built during the Gold Rush in the early 1900s, McCarthy once was a thriving, vibrant city. Today, with fewer than 50 residents and more than 100 miles from the closest city, these people still brave the extreme conditions to live in this secluded, ‘Old West’ town.
Last season, businessman Neil Darish, upgraded a power grid for the town, pushing McCarthy further into the 21st century. Now in the dead of winter, Neil, Jeremy Keller, and other locals have come together to defend each other against a common foe: a pack of overly aggressive wolves that is threatening McCarthy by killing sled dogs and livestock. But this threat can only unite them for so long.
When Neil begins the exploration of the abandoned Mother Lode mine, the site of his proposed mine tour, his call for local workers will divide the town. Who will choose to work for him and who will work against him? If the mine’s unexplored interior is as intriguing as Neil hopes, he’ll break ground on his biggest secret yet, which is sure to change McCarthy forever.
EDGE OF ALASKA is produced by Twofour America, where Bernie Schaeffer, Roger Roddy and Seth Goolnik are executive producers. For Discovery Channel, Joseph Schneier is executive producer.

L. Crowe says
The small kids in Mc carthy have no friends, no school, or anything normal.
Isn’t that kind of child abuse? Do they have grandparents?
They are growing up like cave men. Horrible.
Kelley O. Roos says
Jeremy Keller needs to read a little more on hand loading pistol ammo for his 45 colt. The bullets have no lube on them and that will cause barrel leading, also the bullets/cases need to have a slight crimp or on recoil the bullets will slip out and lock up the pistols cylinder. He should use alox lube or something similar. Hope this message is given to him. The show is ok, get tired of the constant bickering between Jeremy and Neil. Think I’ll stop watching show. Regards, Kelley
