The Crown is viewed as a six-season story, but creator Peter Morgan admits he can’t yet imagine the show beyond Season 4.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Morgan concedes that he doesn’t yet know how the show will conclude, or in which time periods the final episodes will take place:
“I can’t think beyond just doing the two seasons [the third and the fourth] that we’re doing at the moment.”
He added:
“I really don’t know [how it’ll end]. I really don’t know. I couldn’t even imagine doing Diana, I can’t even think about that.”
The Crown Season 3 releases later in 2018, followed in 2019 by Season 4.
How and when do you want The Crown to end?

It would make more sense to finish up at the point of Prince Charles marriage to Diana. A new series could then begin about that relationship. I’m sure all would watch it as well as stories on the lives of William and Harry.

Nooooo you can’t just end it! If they don’t want to handle her death end it at the marriage. Don’t agree to 4 seasons and cut it they knew going in. But even better would be to show the good side of di and what the family did stop hiding it stop making them look good. You can’t hook fans and then leave them finish your commitment such a cop out . If Big Lies can continue when it was just a single book the crown can there are years of stories to be told such a disappointment to fans

Oh no, covering the period of Diana might get static from the Queen, but it would be the most watched season you’ve had. I’ll be crying as I did when the tragic crash took her life and others, but the story should be told
