Amazon Prime Video UK has cancelled Crossing Lines, having decided not to pick up the crime drama’s third season, the streaming company has confirmed.
However, UK fans wont be left hanging, as UKTV channel Alibi has secured first window rights to the third season, having previously held second run rights for Seasons 1 and 2.
Season 3 will release fall 2016 on Alibi.
Press release follows:
UKTV’s home of crime drama, Alibi, today announced it has ordered the third season of international hit drama Crossing Lines (12 episodes) starring Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games, Pillars of the Earth), Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones) and Naomi Battrick (Waterloo Road). Joining the ensemble cast for season three are Goran Visnjic (best known for his leading role in ER) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Emmy-nominated star of Lost).
Alibi premiered Crossing Lines season one and two in 2015. They both performed exceptionally well and were one of the channel’s top performing acquisitions of the year. Crossing Lines season three will be shown in Q4 this year, new to Alibi.
Crossing Lines taps into the International Criminal Court (ICC) to create a special crime unit functioning as a European FBI. They hunt down criminals and investigate crimes that span across European boarders. Set six months after the heart-stopping conclusion of season two, in which the unit’s leader, Louis Daniel, was killed, this unique, global crime drama is set for an explosive third season.
After one of his top prosecutors vanishes, Dorn (Donald Sutherland) must reactivate the ICC team. Marco Constante (Visnjic), Carine Strand (Mitchell), Luke Wilkinson (played by Stuart Martin Game of Thrones) and Ellie Delfont-Bogard (Battrick) are the new ICC team members joining Sebastian Berger (Wlaschiha) and Arabela Seeger (played by Lara Rossi). This reunited team of underdogs must struggle to re-establish their battered identity. With gut-wrenching drama and an emphasis on relevant and contemporary crime, this season promises to be the most ambitious yet.
Crossing Lines season three is produced by TANDEM Productions (a STUDIOCANAL company), in association with Sony Pictures Television Networks and SAT.1.
Adrian Wills, General Manager for Alibi, said,
“Crossing Lines has proved a hit with Alibi viewers and we are delighted to be bringing them more of the shows they love. It is fast-paced and full of suspense. This fantastic third installment will definitely appeal to the growing ranks of Alibi fans.”
Alexandra Finlay, Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, said,
“We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Tandem and Studio Canal on season three of this stand-out crime drama, which has proved a great fit with Alibi’s slate of fantastic crime content.”
Katrina Neylon, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, STUDIOCANAL said,
“Crossing Lines season three is a high action drama series with contemporary and relevant storylines reflecting the news headlines Europe and the world is facing today. The series will resonate with UK audiences and the new series leads, Goran Visnjic and Elizabeth Mitchell, add a fresh new take.”
Crossing Lines has yet to be cancelled or renewed for Season 4. Stay tuned…

Season 3 is indeed out on Netflix US, but Amazon Prime didn’t pick up the third season for the UK. It will now air on UKTV’s Alibi in fall 2016.

I like the first two seasons, but than season 3 open with different characters and left unanswered questions.
Cindy says
The third season was not bad but I think it was a mistake to change the characters so drastically only 2 of the original characters are left the show may have gotten better ratings if they had not made these big changes if it anit broke don’t fix it
