France’s TF1 has acquired lucrative rights to USA’s Colony, boosting the sci-fi drama’s revenue and thus renewal odds ahead of its Jan 14 premiere.
TF1’s head of programming, Fabrice Bailly, said:
“The acquisition of Colony enhances our offering of U.S. series. This headlining action-adventure story matches perfectly with our current lineup. We’re confident that viewers will enjoy this gripping drama created by talented producers and a brilliant cast.”
John McMahon, the executive VP and managing director for EMEA distribution at Legendary Television, predicts Colony will bring “many years” of ratings success:
“We are excited that TF1 will be the French home for Colony. TF1 was the French viewing destination for LOST, which Carlton Cuse also executive produced, and we anticipate that Colony similarly will bring TF1 many years of ratings success.”
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the status of Colony Season 2…
