BrainDead survived just one season on CBS, and EP Robert King has now admitted it was “probably a mistake” do such a “weird” show on a broadcast network, per TVLine:
“It was a show that was trying to be as weird and anti-network as could be, and it was probably a mistake to do that on a network. But I loved that show.”
Did you want BrainDead Season 2, or was CBS right to kill it?

BrainDead had terrible ratings from the season premier onward to it’s final episode and many critics dubbed it “BrainDead on Arrival”. CBS made a terrible mistakes in the cancelling of Person of Interest and Mike and Molly, (they were cancelled because CBS did not own them, even though the 18 – 49 demo ratings of POI were better than the ratings of renewed, owned Elementary), however, CBS was correct in cancelling BrainDead. Any other network probably would have cancelled it at well. The reviews were not that good either.

Please RenewCancelTV, stop with the sensationalized headlines that don’t reflect what the content says.
From “Cancelled CBS TV Show ‘Was Probably A Mistake’ Admits EP” to “…and it was probably a mistake to do that on *a network*…” there’s a huge difference that, of course, would not warrant so many clicks I guess.
@Another Poster: Did you watch BrainDead? It was a witty, fast-paced, pun-filled Scifi Political Thriller + Comedy, but CBS marketed it as something that it wasn’t.
Also, POI ended when it should, there’s no point and keep alive a TV show if the quality will diminish. I prefer to be sad a couple of weeks because a TV Show is over and then remember it fondly than keep watching a TV show (or even worse, stop watching) that is a mere shadow of what it was in its prime.

Braindead was the best show on any network this summer – what a shame it didn’t catch on with viewers. Another season or two would have been fun.

I loved this show and will really miss a second season. It was topical, funny and just plain fun!
