Wynonna Earp is renewed for Season 3 in 2018, but Showrunner Emily Andras already has the end game mapped out.
Speaking to THR, Andras revealed she has a “very clear idea” of how the Syfy/Space series will ultimately end, but she hopes it wont happen until “Season 22”:
I do. You have to have some idea where you’re going, or you’ll get lost. Like all the best journeys, you should be open to taking a side road if it looks like it’s gonna be fun. You have to be willing to change your mind a little, and if something better presents itself, by all means pursue it. But I definitely have a very clear idea of how I could achieve that … in season 22.
Reflecting on the Season 2 finale, Andras noted that it wouldn’t have served as an effective series conclusion, had Syfy and Space axed the show rather than picking up a third season:
I wouldn’t have been fine with it. We really threw everything and the kitchen sink in season two. You have to use your best material now. You can’t hold off for season six because you don’t know if you’ll have a season six.
Wynonna Earp returns with Season 3 in 2018.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of Wynonna Earp Season 4…

YAY…. love this show, glad it got another season…but what’s up with that season “22”? was that a typo or the creator is hoping this show will last that many seasons? LOL

I have to think Andras was joking, or using “season 22” as an analogy for “forever”, which season 22 is pretty close to in TV land.
