Jessica Hynes has admitted to being “disappointed” by BBC Two’s decision to cancel Up The Women.
In the wake of news that the suffragette drama wont be going to Series 3, the creator/actress told Digital Spy:
“I was disappointed, but at the same time grateful for having had a chance to do it.
When you go through the process of development and commission and production, everything is very incremental… when it goes from a treatment idea to a script, that’s a celebration – and then when you get a commission, that’s a massive milestone.
And then we got a series, and then we got commissioned for another series, so I’m very aware of the investment that the BBC put into it and I’m grateful for it. Of course, I’m sad that it’s not going again, but that’s their remit.”
