No stitch up? The BBC has cancelled The Great British Sewing Bee after four series, according to reports.
Per RadioTimes, the broadcaster is set to pass up the chance to renew the needlework talent show for a fifth series, with sources claiming senior BBC execs are eager to banish the “Great British…” franchise.
The publication says doubts also remain over the futures of The Great Pottery Throwdown and Bake Off spin-off Crème de la Crème.
The BBC has yet to make the cancellation ‘official’, but axings are often performed swiftly and silently.
RIP.

Typical of the BBC – spend hours and hours on sport and low-cost reality tv, but completely ignore the interests of women – particularly middle-aged ladies with a few brain cells alive in their heads!!! It makes me so angry!! The Sewing Bee isn’t perfect but at least it’s a shot in the right direction and can’t be that expensive to make.
Likewise, thousands of ladies from all over the country will soon descend on North London for the eagerly awaited “Ally Pally” Knitting and Stitching Show and it won’t even get a mention on the news, BUT if it were a car or boat show – it would be extensively covered! Wake up Auntie – we might not make a noise, but we are still alive and kicking!!!

We aren’t all women?

what a shame, such a brilliant programme. I do wonder about paying my licence fee to the BBC as they seem to be cancelling their best programmes.

Very disappointed, finally a great show I understand, I can empathise with the contestants because I know what it’s like trying to create a perfect piece of work, and I love the tips, too, some of which I have taken onboard. I really like Patrick (he needs a fan club!) and Claudia is a great presenter. Please don’t cancel, I would rather watch this than those horrendous cookery programmes that are on TV any day (hate cooking, would rather sew all day). Keep the GBSB!!!!
