Freeform has cancelled Stitchers after three seasons. The cabler has opted not to renew the sci-fi drama for Season 4, RenewCancelTV has confirmed.
Actor Kyle Harris initially teased the cancellation via Twitter:
If I had this to do again
And the evening were new again
I would spend it with you again
But now the curtain falls. pic.twitter.com/1OnEZ7CWGQ— Kyle Harris (@KyleHarris) September 15, 2017
Freeform’s decision to swing the axe means Stitchers ends its third — and now final — season on a major cliffhanger.
The final season saw Kirsten and the Stitchers team hack into the minds of the recently deceased to investigate diverse and unusual cases spanning from international relations to within their own families. New relationships formed while others endedd, and the true purpose of the Stitchers program was revealed.
Per sources, there are no immediate plans to shop Stitchers Season 4 elsewhere. Stay tuned for potential updates.
RIP.

Why cant you people stop cancelling shows on cliffhangers? At least have the decency to finish it out and not leave us wondering. This really sucks!!!
Aggie says
Amen
Nikki says
I double that!
charles says
Yeah do it like the Chuck Series the finished it and with a good ending.
Nicky Elizabeth Price says
Oh come on, every time i get so involved watching and enjoying, the show ends up being cancelled, Lets hope some one else will pick this up, Fingers crossed.
Lynn says
I am almost afraid to watch and get involved in great television shows because it always seems that when I do, it gets cancelled. Oh but maybe they will put on another reality show or some other show I will care nothing about! Wouldn’t that be exciting? This was one of the most imaginative shows on television. It would be great if Netflix picked it up. I would love binge watching this show! But, again, since I do really like this show, it will fade off into the deep bowels of hell never to be seen again.
this is BULL CRAP says
There goes Freeform cancelling another great show. When will net works, stop cancelling show really do want to watch. I do hope another channel will pick this show up.
JoAnne Wallis says
Another great show cancelled! I sure hope it gets picked up elsewhere
KatW says
I am so disapointed! WTH!

Stitchers is an excellent show…The show catered to people with intelligence so they can’t have that. If it contained bathroom humor & politically indoctrinating soundbites it would stay on forever. Excellent cast, writing, & theme…kudos to all of you for a great show.
Lynn says
You hit the nail on the head!
Ecas says
Why does Freeform keep canceling all the good shows. There’s no loyalty to the fans. Stitches was a great show. Freeform let me down yet again. So disappointed.
Dianne Summers says
Stitchers is a really good show!! It shouldn’t be canceled, plus it has been “left on” a cliffhanger”!!! Really, do the fans even count? I think we all have the answer to that one.—Watch those ratings–things change! Dianne Summers

So angry. Such a good show. Must be that people over the age of 12 were watching it. I’m very frustrated. !!!! Thank you to the cast and crew and writers for a great show.
Jan says
Another GREAT series is cancelled while the moronic, idiotic “reality” shows run for decades?????????? America no longer has a mind.
Lynn says
You said that perfectly! They have all turned into robots as they watch more and more reality shows. Quite honestly, I really do not give a flying flip what the cult of the Duggars are doing. Of course, they couldn’t quite come back from Josh’s perverted actions but yet, it seemed that so many people still supported this show/family. That is just an example as there are so many shows like this that just keep going on and on. I would turn into a zombie if those shows were all I watched. I am really surprised at Stitchers getting the axe, though. It is as you said. Too many Americans are brain dead these days.
NME says
I agree with all of you. I hate that they’re leaving us hanging. If the show really isn’t coming back, at least have a movie so we can have an ending.
Faunmax says
Just stop watching Freeform.
Barb says
Well Freeform did a little better!
But still not all shows had encores!
Stitchers started out w/some,
& then quit!
I will miss all the characters!
Shadow Hunters,not the best,
Beyond i watch!
Only the 2shows left i guess!
Tired of starting 2 watch a show
Then cancelled!
Dont start watching,
Wont have that prob will i?
Prob what I’ll end up doing!
Jefi says
Freeform canceled shows with cliffhangers and i hate that . At least have season 4 to see going happen cause i guess what going to happen.
LindsayDD says
Another good show canceled. These networks are ridiculous. Cancel the good shows but keep 30+ seasons of the same reality shows. Pretty soon there will be nothing but Big Brother, Survivor and The Bachelor…
T.Magee says
Omg I just watched every season only to get left with this huge cliffhanger. This is so freaking messed up.
L McGowen says
this show was good. I suppose people got bored because it was always the same thing
someone on the slab and the stitchers doing there thing. there was a story line developing.
what happened the writers lost focus and couldn’t come up with fresh ideas ? I was hooked to this show
and it is hard for me to find a show I like. this show needs to be renewed. finish the story so fans
aren’t disappointed.
MaryB says
I’m somewhat late responding to the cancellation of stitches. It’s disheartening to have a successful show and with a cliffhanger rather than planning the ending at the end of the season. Really would like to know how it turned out since we discovered the new reason for stitches. Oh well, guess I’ll have to get started on another show that I enjoy watching only to have canceled.
Kate says
Stitchers was such a good show!!! I can’t believe it was cancelled! #bringbackgoodtv #bringstitchersback
Gwen says
You are cancelling every good show. Why? This was a really good show. What are you going to replace these shows with, more garbage?
Momster says
Sheesh. Thanks for the series while it lasted. Way to ditch your fans, though.
This is why TV is dying. Networks show so few episodes of a series per year, and viewers have no idea when they will (or won’t) be back. Studios don’t invest in their programming beyond production, and they expect what?!?! Geez. Doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to know that this is exactly why broadcast television is dying.
Sy-Fy is doing the same thing – cancelling good programming for mind-melting trash.
Oh well. More puzzles and family game nights for us! TV has had more off time than on, and that’s a good thing, right? :o)
