Stella‘s run is coming to an end after six seasons following cancellation on Sky One.
Speaking to RadioTimes, creator Ruth Jones reflected on the end of the British comedy-drama and series finale:
It’s been a fantastic journey, but it’s time to let Pontyberry get on with life in private. There’s a part of me that’s very sad it’s finishing – it’s seven years now since we started working on it [Jones stars, writes, and created the show with David Peet, her husband] and as someone pointed out to me, “That’s basically the whole of comprehensive school!” The last day of filming in Stella’s street I did shed a few tears. But it’s a cracker of a finale.
Stella airs its series finale October 18, 2017 on Sky One.
Will you miss Stella? Did you want a seventh series? Was the show cancelled at the right time?
Kareen Gillespie says
This is the best series sky one has shown…..I absolutely love it…..it has everything you want in a tv series…..brilliant storylines and characters, makes you laugh out loud, and cry in a hanky…..all in the same episode……..I think sky 1 should definitely reconsider their decision to cancel this series……
Chris Cutress says
They should at least give us a Christmas special so that we can see what’s happened to this magical community in the years since the series ended, ala “Gavin and Stacey”
